Alexandre Léger studied the piano with Françoise Thinat and then pursued his musical studies at Paris CNSMD – Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse – with Gérard Fremy, Cyril Huvé, Christian Ivaldi and Alain Planès.
At Paris CNSMD, he won the first piano and chamber music prize and also graduated succesfully with the Teaching diploma. Then, he got a studentship for the Sommerakademie at the Austrian Salzburg Mozarteum and had also the chance to study with Marie-Françoise Bucquet.
Alexandre Léger performs regularly as a soloist and in chamber music in France and Europe with such musician as Manfred string Quartett, Laurent Le Flecher, Francis Duroy, Roland Pidoux, Dominique Miton, and musicians of the « Bretagne » orchestra.
He plays with the Rhizome Ensemble in concerts dedicated to Berio, Barraqué, Stokhausen and Lindberg. Alexandre Léger plays regularly in recital with such singers as Elisabeth Vidal, Jérôme Billy and Guy Flechter.
At the same time, he is passionate by teaching. Occupant of the CA – Certificat d’aptitude of piano, since 1997 he is a Professor at Rennes CRR – Conservatoire à rayonnement régional.
